Wealth inequality in America has grown tremendously from 1989 to 2016, to the point where the top 10% of families ranked by household wealth (with at least $1.2 million in net worth) own 77% of the wealth “pie.”. A considerable amount of America's wealth, came from being the 'WalMart' and 'Home Depot' to the world through two world wars. America was the manufacturing and agricultural giant during those times. America has also had the benefit of untouched natural resources in its vast geographic regions since the indigenous American Indians did not exploit their lands' natural resources for manufacturing and the like.
