The vast majority of wealth managers are going to have, at the very least, a bachelor's degree. One of the most relevant certifications is the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Chartered Wealth Manager (CWM). You should have one in business administration or a related subject like accounting or financial management.

In terms of qualifications, wealth managers need not have any formal education if they work independently. However, if they choose to work for a firm, they must at least have a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics or accounting. Further qualifications are also beneficial.

Unlike other professions wealth management doesn’t have a stand-alone degree or certification. This is probably because it requires knowledge and expertise in finance and other related subjects.
